Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine that affects 2 to 4% of the population. The disease can begin in infancy, childhood or adulthood, but is usually seen in adolescents. Although this condition can occur in both males and females, it is about ten times more common in females.
There is no “quick fix” for scoliosis, but the SpineCor brace has proven to be very effective in stopping the progression of the spinal curvature and in many cases actually reducing the curvature. Although the SpineCor brace was originally developed for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, it has also been effective for childhood and adult scoliosis. Dr. Gorrie’s complete rehabilitation program utilizing the SpineCor brace, physiotherapy, whole body vibration and a neurological weighting system offers a powerful combination for the successful treatment of scoliosis.
